Live a day as a researcher with the scientists of MareTerra NGO. All your curiosities about dolphins will be satisfied. Observe the researchers as they collect scientific data to study the bottlenose dolphin population of the Gulf of Alghero. Discover the stories of some of the most famous dolphins like Suzeo, Taz or Shark Junior. During snorkelling, you'll have a guide who will take you to discover underwater life. On board, we'll tell you some curiosities about what we have seen. You will never be alone! Our excursions are inspired by the principles of ecotourism and sustainability: - Latest generation boat engines reduce fuel consumption and reduce the emission of noise underwater. - HQWW certification (High Quality Whale Watching) for whale watching operators complying with the Code of Good Conduct. This serves to reduce and minimize the disturbance of cetaceans. - Environmental education on board. - By joining Progetto Natura, you can support MareTerra NGO and its scientific research and conservation projects.

A fantastic experience.

We had a fantastic experience which we will never forget! Loads of dolphins and such interesting insight delivered by the team. A really well organised tour - all on time, very well resourced with friendly and knowledgable guides. The search for dolphins was exciting but the care for the well-being of the dolphins was paramount. We were really lucky (my daughter said it was ‘the luck of the Irish’) and we saw groups and individuals and young, playing and flipping - even swimming alongside the boat at one point. The snorkelling was great and we felt very safe and well looked after. Highlight for me of that part was seeing an octopus on the sea bed. Highly recommended.

Great afternoon of learning/ observing dolphins and snorkelling.

Booked online the evening before and managed to secure the last two spaces. There was French, Welsh, German and Italian guests on board - max 12 guests. Booking online was easy and the meeting point was very easy to find with the pdf they send you. Italian and English spoken by the crew. Francesco was our lead, with a team of 3 other people from UK, Netherlands and Turkey (all knowledgable, highly educated in the field and helpful). Departure and arrival was on time. During the trip, the team kept us briefed and informed about what they do for research and about the dolphins. Very insightful. You go spotting for the dolphins to start and then go snorkelling, in water upto 4 metres deep. Your guide is always there, with a crew mate, and always pointing interesting sea-life out. Great customer service all afternoon. They are not just another boat tour! These people do research into the dolphins and their patterns of behaviour. They are also trying to protect the environment. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent

Excellent tour. We were very lucky to see 3 pods of Dolphins but even if we hadn’t it was a great tour. The guides were knowledgeable and their passion for their work was infectious. Highly recommended. I went with two children aged 7 and 10 and it was the highlight of their holiday.

Dolphin sighting

Fantastic time with Fabio and Alex - we saw loads of dolphins and had an amazing snorkel (we loved the rainbow wrasse fish). We also learnt a lot from the presentation, really nice to be taken out by a group who are so passionate about dolphins. This was a really amazing experience which I would highly recommend. Thanks!

Very nice tour even without watching dolphins.

We learned a lot about dolphins, but unfortunately did not see any. But that wasn't a problem, because the whole tour was very interesting and fun. Many thanks to the team. If you really want to save dolphins, stop eating fish.
